Why Working With Independent Organisations Matters to Us

This summer, we’re incredibly excited to be providing the beer at both Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul Festival and Moseley Folk & Arts Festival right here in Brum.

But for us, these partnerships are about much more than simply pouring pints at a festival. They represent something we’ve always believed in at Attic: that independent businesses create something genuinely special when they work together.

Birmingham has an incredible independent scene. Across beer, music, food, theatre, art, and design, there are so many people doing brilliant things with real creativity and passion behind them. When those worlds overlap, it creates experiences that feel authentic to the city and the people in it.

As a brewery rooted in Stirchley, we’ve always wanted Attic to feel connected to the wider community and collaboration has been a huge part of that journey. Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to work with a range of brilliant local organisations, artists, and events.  From festivals such as Supersonic, and CocoMAD, local bands like The Atlantic Players, small venues like Lemonworld, Eat Vietnam, and Punks and Chancers, to venues such as the grand Hippodrome theatre in our city centre.

Each collaboration has been completely different, but they all come back to the same idea: supporting independent creativity and building something people genuinely connect with.

That’s why working with Mostly Jazz and Moseley Folk feels like such a natural fit. These festivals have built fantastic reputations by creating welcoming events that celebrate culture, creativity, and independent spirit. They’re the kind of events that make Birmingham special.

There’s also something uniquely satisfying about enjoying a locally brewed beer while listening to live music in the city where both were created. It feels rooted in place. The beer hasn’t travelled halfway across the country. It’s fresh from the brewery, less than three miles away,  and served alongside people who care deeply about what they do.

Festivals are also one of the best environments to discover independent beer. You’re relaxed, surrounded by friends, listening to incredible music, and enjoying refreshing, top quality beer. Those moments stick with people. A sunny afternoon, a great set, an Attic pint in hand. It becomes part of the memory.

That’s why we love working with independent festivals, venues, and creative businesses. It helps build a stronger, more connected Birmingham culture where local businesses support one another and create experiences that feel unique to the city.

This summer, we’ll be offering a range of beers at Mostly Jazz and Moseley Folk, from crisp and refreshing lagers perfect for sunny afternoons to more hoppy options for settling into a full day of music.

If you’re heading down to either festival this year, come and find us, grab a pint, and celebrate another summer of independent Birmingham culture done properly.
