Intuition is 4 years old! To celebrate, we thought we’d share the brewing journey of our award-winning flagship pale ale, which has won an impressive six awards, including a Great Taste star, since we first brewed it.
Brewed back in 2020, Intuition has quickly become a favourite among beer lovers in the Midlands and around the UK. Created with the idea of being a quality session pale, we wanted to make a beer with low-ish ABV but maximum flavour.
A Flavourful Journey
So, why is it called Intuition? Back in the day when we were brewing a lot of session pales, with each brew we’d take the best bits and keep them in the next pale recipe in order to eventually create the best tasting pale with a low-ish ABV. Lots of tweaks were made using our instincts, and this is why we called the last version of the beer Intuition! The reaction to Intuition was so great that we decided to re-brew it and it quickly became the great beer people know and love today.
Over time, we’ve made a few small tweaks - experimenting with different hops and malts, and playing around with the water profile to fine-tune the mouthfeel. But one thing has remained constant: the delicious, sweet and fruity flavour, packed with gooseberry and tropical passion fruit. And with its distinctive, colourful branding, it definitely stands out to a beer loving crowd.
Racking Up the Awards
We’re beyond proud of Intuition, our flagship beer. Not only has it won the hearts of our loyal customers, but it’s also earned recognition in the beer community. It’s been awarded at the London Beer Awards, Craft Beer Marketing Awards, Society of Independent Brewers Association and, most recently, Great Taste, by The guild of Fine Food. These accolades are a testament to our dedication and passion for brewing top-quality beer.
Where to Find Intuition
You can find Intuition at our taproom in Stirchley and our bar, The Barrel Store, in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, as well as at select pubs and bars across the country. Most recently, we’re excited to share that Intuition is available at Asda, Waitrose and on Cross Country Trains, bringing our favourite session pale to an even wider audience.
